imageActress Scarlett Johansson looks ready to take on another action film, this one coming from the world of Japanese anime.

‘Lucy’ star Scarlett Johansson has signed on to star in DreamWorks live-action film adaptation ‘Ghost in the Shell’. Scarlett Johansson will be bringing another comic book character to the big screen.

‘Ghost in the Shell’ will be based on the Japanese comic book of the same name, which follows the adventures of cyborg Motoko Kusanag, a member of the futuristic Japanese National Public Safety Commission and a specialist in fighting cyber crime. Previously, it was rumoured that ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ star Margot Robbie was in talk. The filmmaker Rupert Sanders will direct the film, media reported.

A live action adaptation of another Japanese anime, Warner Bros' Akira film, has also been in the works for many years.

Scarlett Johansson will next be seen in ‘Avengers; Age of Ultron’ which will be released in May 2015.
