imageISLAMABAD: The Kashmir Chambers of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) has distributed relief material among 80 flood-hit families of Srinagar.

The KCCI Chairman, Ibrahim Shadad, in a media interview in Srinagar said that the relief trust of the KCCI which was formed in 2005 soon after the deadly earthquake collected funds and purchased 4,200 blankets, 3,700 and 1,700 ladies and gents sweaters respectively,KMS reported.

He said, "After conducting survey for three days, we identified 80 families from Bemina and Zaindar Mohalla areas for the first phase and the relief material was distributed among them." He said in the next phases, the relief material would be distributed among the flood-hit families of other areas including Mahjoor Nagar, Jawahar Nagar and Rajbagh.

The KCCI Chairman said that many donors were donating funds for the relief trust. He said, "The major donor is a businessman who donated Rs 1,000,000." He urged the Indian government to allow international aid in the occupied territory.
