KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Jail and Anti Corruption, Manzoor Hussain Wassan here on Friday ordered immediate data compilation of people visiting jailed terrorists and prisoners involved in heinous crimes across the province.
The IG-Jail for Sindh, Nusrat Hussain Mangi has also been asked to beef up security arrangements at all jails, particularly those where these hardened criminals are or may be placed.
The minister said construction of bomb proof walls around the jails considered sensitive must also be expedited while completion of prisons in Thatta, Mirpurkhas and Nawabshah must be ensured within stipulated time period.
Manzoor Hussain Wassan said he would soon take surprise visits of different jails in the province and would particularly take into account the recently made security arrangements besides measures adopted to improve hygienic conditions and compliance of duties by the jail staff.
The IG - Jails was asked to see that his subordinates necessarily ensure compliance to duty hours as otherwise strict disciplinary action would be taken against them.
