KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has condemned the murder of Maulana Masood Baig, the son-in-law of noted religious scholar Mufti Muhammad Naeem, and termed it a conspiracy to instigate violence in the metropolis.
Sharjeel Memon promised that Maulana Masood's murderers will be brought to justice, said a handout issued here on Wednesday.
The Minister said that police and Rangers are actively working to eliminate terrorism from the city, and a visible reduction has been witnessed in target killing incidents.
He said that the public would not let the nefarious designs of terrorists succeed, as a conspiracy is being hatched to disturb peace by targeting religious scholars from various schools of thought, doctors, teachers and the people belonging to other segments of the society.
Sharjeel Memon appealed to the Ulema and political leaders to help the government foil such conspiracies aimed at destroying peace of the city.
