‘The Giver’ makers to donate film profits to charity

‘The Giver’ filmmaker is planning to donate a certain amount of the film’s profits to charity, media reported.

According to media reports, “Executives at Walden Media and The Weinstein Company have announced that ticket sales during America’s upcoming Labour Day weekend will go towards the National Education Association’s "Read across America program”.

The donation, up to the amount of $250,000 will go towards the charity’s "Ticket To A Better World’ initiative", which will provide books to children in need in the US, media reported.

‘The Giver’ is an American sci-fi movie released on August 15, 2014 starring Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Brenton Thwaites, Alexander Skarsgard, Odeya Rush, Katie Holmes, and Taylor Swift.
