imageLAHORE: Punjab Energy Minister Chaudhry Sher Ali Thursday said the government would end energy crisis so that trade and industrial activities could be increased.

Talking to APP here, he said the PML-N government was working round-the-clock to overcome power dearth, added that a number of projects had been initiated.

"We have inked in agreements with local and foreign power companies and speedy execution of these power projects is being ensured," he added.

He said the energy crisis had adversely affected education, industry, agriculture, health and other sectors, however, the present government had taken effective measures to control it.

The minister said a 1,000 megawatts power project would be set up at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park Bahawalpur while a solar project of 100MW would be completed by end of this year.

He hailed Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for his efforts to overcome energy shortage and said solar projects would greatly help decrease power shortfall.
