ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Thursday said that no foreign citizen would be allowed to take law of the land in his hand.
Talking to media outside the Parliament House, he said, an American arrested in the Karachi would be dealt as per law of the country.
To a question, he said Prime Minister had issued orders to make operational all the closed power plants.
The Minister said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has taken notice of load shedding and directed to decrease its duration.
He said the duration of load shedding during last year was 18 hours which had already been reduced to 8 hours.
He said coal power generation unit at Port Qasim would provide cheaper electricity. The power generation units in Nandipur and other areas of Punjab will soon be operational, he added.
He said that the electricity thieves would be deprived of their transformers and non-payers would not get the supply. "We will supply electricity to those who are paying bills", he said.
The minister said the government cannot continue to pay the circular debt for the theft of electricity. Those using the facility will have to pay the bill, he added.
