ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) Chairman Syed Sultan Shah has urged the higher authorities to build a stadium for the national blind cricket team.
Talking to APP, Sultan Shah said the biggest problem for the national team is the absence of stadium. "We don't have a particular stadium to conduct our matches. We have got 45 kanals of land at Ferozepur, Lahore but we don't have sufficient funds to build a stadium therefore I request the Punjab Government to help us in this regard."
Speaking about the Blind Cricket World Cup to be held in Cape Town, South Africa in November this year, he said he hopes for the national team to triumph in the mega event saying the players are fully prepared for it.
Sultan Shah said we will be selecting a total of 30 probables for the preparation of the mega event and then a final squad of 17 players will be finalized. "We have formed a two-member selection committee including Nafees Ahmed and Tahir Mehmood to pick the players," he said.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan has won two Blind Cricket World Cups in 2002 and in 2006.
