ISLAMABAD: Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique Monday told the National Assembly that five locomotives from China would arrive by March 26, for passenger operation.
These were part of 58 locomotives, tender for which was awarded by the previous government, he said replying to a question.
The minister said during the first 10 months of the present government, Pakistan Railways had recovered Rs 340 million, the major chunk of Rs 310 million from two defaulters.
He said since 1974, Pakistan Railways had not earned any profit.
