imageBANGKOK: Thailand's 2014 energy demand is expected to rise 2.5 percent on the back of the country's economic growth, versus a rise in energy use of 1.2 percent in 2013, the Energy Ministry said on Thursday.

Demand for natural gas is expected to rise 4 percent in 2014, boosted by growing demand for electricity, it said in a statement.

The forecast was based on the assumption that Thailand's economy will grow 4-5 percent this year.
