imageISLAMABAD: A five-member delegation of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) headed by its chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will visit Afghanistan during the running week.

JUI-F spokesman Jan Achakzai, in a statement here on Monday, said that during the visit, Maulana Fazl would discuss options with Afghan President Hamid Karzai as to how he could play a role in retoring peace in the region.

He said that the Afhgan President had extended an invitation to the JUI-F chief to visit his country, which was accepted by the party's core committee in its meeting on Sunday.

Besides Maulana Fazl, the delegation will include Jan Achakzai, Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan, Maulana Abdul Wasey and Mufti Ibrar, he added.

President Karzai, who had sought Maulana's help in the ongoing Afghan reconciliation process, recently sent an invitation to the JUI-F chief through the Foreign Office to visit Kabul.

Achakzai said that the party's delegation would also hold talks with other Afghan leaders.
