LAHORE: At least three persons were killed and several others injured in separate incidents of roofs collapse due to heavy rain here on Saturday.
According to rescue sources, the first incident took place in Nishtar Colony of Lahore where roof of a dilapidated house suddenly came down.
As a result of the incident a five-year-old girl named Simran died on the spot while three others sustained injuries.
The rescue personnel in assistance with relatives and local people dug out the bodies and injured from the rubble and shifted them to hospital.
Roof of a mud and stone house located in Chongi Amar Sidhu also caved in as the area received heavy rain.
Two persons including a child died in the incident. The bodies were recovered and shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Meanwhile, dozens of persons including women and children were injured in various incidents of wall collapse, road accidents and other rain related occurrences.
