KARACHI: Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Altaf Hussain on Wednesday hailed Army Chief, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani for expressing his absolute commitment and support to the cause of democracy in country.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday the MQM chief said the boldness and absolute clarity with which the Army Chief expressed his views on extremely sensitive issues on Tuesday was highly appreciable.
"General Kayani has practically demonstrated to be a soldier who is always prepared for the defence of the country and the nation," said Altaf Hussain.
MQM chief said the statement of General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani had given the nation a new strength and confidence besides countering apprehensions about the future of democracy in the country.
He said the entire nation stands firm with its army and prays for its success against elements trying to create anarchy and instability in the country.
