KARACHI: Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, who is rarely seen attending any award ceremonies, will reportedly be flying to New York to attend TIME magazine’s celebratory dinner on April 23rd.
The 48-year-old actor was named in TIME magazine’s most influential people in the world this year. He gathered worldwide appreciation for his 2012 television series “Satyamev Jayate”. The list also includes Barack and Michelle Obama, Pope Francis, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, Malala Yousufzai, Aung San Suu Kyi,Daniel Day-Lewis and Kate Middleton.
According to Indian media sources, the actor took three days off from the shoot of Dhoom 3 in Mumbai to attend the event.The grand event may also see the presence of US President Barack Obama. Khan had earlier met him in 2010 during his visit to India.
Recently this year, the actor met British Prime Minister David Cameron and discussed issues regarding gender inequality with college students.
Khan, who is really good friends with Sanjay Dutt has reportedly altered his filming schedule to help him complete Raj Kumar Hirani’s “Peekay”, also starring Anushka Sharma and Arshad Warsi.
Khan will reportedly be seen on the cover of September’s edition of TIME magazine.
