Train March to prove milestone in holding transparent elections: Dr. Paracha

KARACHI: Train march which is to be scheduled on March 3, will prove a milestone in making the Election Commission of Pakistan hold transparent, fair and free elections.

This was stated by Central Deputy Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Dr Fareed Paracha during his visit to Idara-e- Noor-e- Haq here on Wednesday, said a statement.

Talking to JI office bearers, Dr. Paracha said the core aim of holding train march is to make the Election Commission ensure the holding of transparent election.

He said the stability of the country is linked with law and order situation of Karachi.

He said the electoral process in the city should not be manipulated by a political party, adding, free and fair election is imperative to restore lasting peace in Karachi.

Earlier, JI Karachi Ameer Muhammad Hussain Mahenti briefed JI Central Deputy Secretary General Dr. Fareed Paracha about arrangements being made in connection with train march.

Mahenti also briefed JI Central Deputy Secretary General about the steps being taken by different political and religious parties over rectification of voters' list.
