Govt decides to implement lockdown in sensitive areas

In wake of rising cases of coronavirus in the country, the government has decided to lock down sensitive areas in Karachi.

As per details, Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalawani says implementation will start from 7:00 pm today. The hotspots have been identified in the light of the report of the Deputy Commissioners.

According to the statement of the commissioner, commissioner Karachi is issuing notifications with details of areas. Traffic will be restricted in restricted areas during the lockdown.

Thirty-two areas of Lahore were completely sealed yesterday and several other cities including Faisalabad, Multan, and Gujranwala were also sealed. All movement in the sealed areas is prohibited.

Smart lockdown strategy is also underway in Peshawar and Nowshera and in Balochistan smart lockdown has been extended by 15 days.

People in the affected areas will not be able to go to the offices, whereas, grocery stores and medical stores will remain open until the appointed time.

On the other hand, on the orders of the district administration, six more sectors including sub-sectors were sealed in Islamabad. Sectors I-Eight, I-Ten, I-Eight-Three, Four, I-Ten One, and I-Ten Two were sealed at midnight.

Residents of the affected areas were given 24 hours to prepare so that they could arrange the essentials.
