LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday adjourned hearing of a petition against VIP culture in Pakistan till July 19 and asked the petitioner’s counsel, A. K. Dogar, to come up with arguments on a point that as to how the court could change this culture.  Pleading the petition of Jamat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, Dogar sought a declaration from the court that VVIP culture was a legacy of colonial era and was ultra vires of the constitutional provisions.  The petitioner’s counsel said that closing of roads for VIPs was utter violation of fundamental rights of the citizens.

He said that the presidency, prime minister’s house, governor houses in all provinces and chief ministers’ houses, minister’s enclave and the places of all state functionaries should be declared violative of principle of social and economic justice.
