The incidents of carjacking and various kinds of theft witnessed an increase in the heavily-guarded federal capital as over eight cases of car lifting and five cases of theft were reported to various police stations of the city during the last week.

According to data gathered by Business Recorder, robbers struck at five different places depriving citizens of valuables and auto thieves lifted eight vehicles including bikes from different localities of the city. Over four cases of kidnapping were also reported to different police stations during the last week.

In the same period, 'hotspots' for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Shehzad Town, Aabpara, Industrial Area and Ramna police stations.

During the last week, Shehzad Town police station registered one case each of auto theft, robbery and murder. Auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number LRB-3742 of Muhammad Bilal from the jurisdiction of Shehzad Town police station.

One Muhammad Shehzad lodged a complaint with Shehzad Town police station that unknown persons broke locks of his house and looted gold ornaments of Rs 1,300,000. One Zari Jan Shah registered a complaint with Shehzad Town police that Toti Shah and Sadiq have allegedly shot dead his son-in-law Niaz Badhsah over an old enmity.

Similarly, two cases of auto theft and one case of kidnapping were reported to Aabpara police station. Auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration umber UP-962 of Muhammad Fawad of Rs 15,000 and lifted another bike bearing registration number RIM-3491 of Abdul Khaliq of Rs 55,000 from his house. Asif Masih lodged a complaint with Aabpara police station that accused Shehzad Masih has allegedly kidnapped his wife.

During the last week, Industrial Area police station registered two cases of auto theft and one case of robbery. One Ali Zer lodged a compliant with Industrial Area police station that his housemaid stole Rs 85,000 cash from his house. Auto thieves stole a bike AUP-115 of one Ahmed and lifted a car bearing registration umber RLC-322 of Riaz Ahmed.
