Chilled weather puts life at standstill

Chilled weather has put the life at a standstill in the provincial metropolis, as the mercury hit 2 degree Celsius on Monday. Met Office has predicted continuity of this spell of next 24 hours as well. Back in 2007, the temperature of the city had dropped to minus one degree Celsius and chances are high that a similar situation could arise in case of any further continuation of the prevailing spell.

However, the Met Office sources are of the view that the chilled weather continue until 1st of January that would be followed by the start of western waves that would normalize the effect of cold weather. It has further predicted precipitation on coming Friday.
