Alhamdulillah, teamwork and success are hallmarks of Meezan Bank's journey. As an annual celebration of our team work, this year too, Meezan Bank holds the 'Winning Together' Cricket Tournament - 2018. Tournament was based on the theme ' Celebrating Best Bank Award-2018, at Asghar Ali Shah Cricket Stadium, North Nazimabad, Karachi. 12 teams from South region including interior Sindh (Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Sangher, Nawabshah and Sukkur) and Head Office competed in the tournament.
President and CEO of Meezan Bank Irfan Siddiqui, was the chief guest of the occasion. Guest of honor Ijaz Farooq Group Head Retail Banking, Commercial, SME & Agriculture, Mohammad Raza Group Head Customer Support, Riaz Ahmed - Head of Administration, Kamal Hussain Manager Information Technology, Shahzad Abdullah Deputy Treasurer, Kazi Mohammad Amir - General Manager, Ameen Khowaja - Regional Manager Hyderabad, Kamran Zafar Regional Manager, Mashkoor A.G.Khan Regional Manager, Ahsan Chishty National Sales Manager, Senior Executives of Meezan Bank and large number of bank employees with their families were present and enjoyed the event throughout the day.
The tournament started at 10:00 am with the recitation of Holy Quran and national anthem. It was followed by opening ball hit by chief guest Mohammad Raza.
The first semi-final was played between South Region-Karachi and West Region Karachi, South Region win Man of the Match Saad Abdullah.
2nd semi-final was played between Karachi East Region- Karachi North Region, Karachi East won the matches Mohammad Irfan was declared man of the match.
The final match of the tournament was played between Karachi East Region and Karachi South Region teams. Karachi East won the final: Sayam Khan Afridi was declared as the Man of the Match for his tremendous performance. The commentary was done by famous commentator Anis Ur Reham of Radio Pakistan.
President & CEO Irfan Siddiqui also distributed awards amongst the players. Ijaz Farooq and Mohammad Raza also appreciated the players for their performance. Siddiqui stressed on the importance of such events and encouraged the Meezan Family to work as a team. He highlighted the importance of working harder and further improving the Bank's service standards. He also appreciated the organizing committee of the tournament for their efforts. The tournament received good popularity and provided the staff with an opportunity to further build team synergies.-PR
