Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation - FBR, Anti-Smuggling (Customs), Karachi on Wednesday claimed to have confiscated 436 tons of Plastic Granules (PG) of different origins during raid in Baldia, SITE area. According to details, the action was taken on a tip-off which revealed that huge quantity of PG was stocked in a warehouse located at Baldia, SITE area.
Reacting on it, the ASO team conducted raid at the said place and took over 436 tons of PG into custody. Officials said that 67 tons of PG was Iranian origin which was not importable and was a notified item while 369 tons of plastic granules are of different origin including Thailand etc. The documents of its legal import and payment of duty and taxes could not be produced by the custodian. Consequently, case has been registered and investigation is underway to nab other accomplices.
