This has reference to Dr Tharani's letter published on February 23, 2007 in Business Recorder under the caption of CSIBL issue, I would like to add here that SECP has been operating CSIBL since August 2006, but SECP is not making anything public despite so many letters written in many local dailies, including your esteemed newspaper.
And it is worth noting that SECP is at present headed by seasoned senior chartered accountant. Along with him there are many other professionals, namely, CAs, MBAs, lawyers, advisors, etc, but none of them feel any ethical responsibility to disclose any doing of theirs to depositors and creditors of CSIBL.
Whereas, if any other public or private limited company ever fails to present any periodic audited/un-audited report on time, or if disclosure of any sort is not revealed by any entity reporting to SECP, then SECP issues them show cause notices, and imposes fines/penalises them even for small and trivial aspects/matters.
Thus in case of CSIBL being operated by SECP, we, depositors and creditors, are requesting SECP to make public its position on CSIBL through media, and we are asking SECP to respond to this letter in one week's time, as otherwise, we would request and urge the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, in the interest of depositors and creditors of CSIBL, to please use your good offices, and ensure SECP responds to the above, and make its position known to the public. Basically, all depositors and creditors of CSIBL are interested in knowing as to when they are going to get their money back.
