Poultry scientists and experts from various countries have confirmed their participation in 'National Poultry Congress 2004' to be held here on April 9 & 10.
The event which is being arranged by the Pakistan Poultry Association, Punjab Zone, will be attended by the poultry experts, poultry farmers and businessmen related to poultry field, said Major Syed Javaid Hussain Bukhari (Retd) Secretary of the Congress here on Thursday.
He said that with continuous depletion in supply of red meat, poultry was the cheapest available meat with protein and is an effective check upon the spiralling meat prices. Poultry, at present contribute, 27 percent of total meat consumption, while mutton production had reduced by ten-percent during the last ten-years.
WORKSHOP: Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) is holding a training and educational workshop for poultry farmers at Barani University Rawalpindi on March 31.
A spokesman of PPA said here on Thursday that among others Yousaf Ehsan Khokar, Dr Khalid Mahmood Khan, Abdul Basit, Dr Sadiq Sahib, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Khan and Dr Abdul Ghafoor would address.
Dr Hanif Nazir would address the issue of bio-security, Dr Hassan Sarosh would deliver his lecture on poultry diseases and Dr Tariq Javaid would speak on the topic of heat stress management.
