Indus River System Authority (Irsa) said on Saturday that all the four provinces utilised less water than their share by 22.1 percent to 9.4 percent during the period from October 1, 2003 to February 20, 2004.
According to the data released by Indus River System Authority here on Saturday, the position of water utilised by the provinces during the current Rabi Season for the period October 1, 2003 to February 20, 2004 remained lower than the share.
Punjab utilised 13.033 MAF during the said period as compared to 15.472 MAF which remained 15.8 percent less than the share; Sindh utilised 10.943 MAF as compared to 12.068 MAF recorded, 9.4 percent lower than the share; NWFP utilised only 0.432 MAF as compared to 0.491 MAF, remained 12.1 percent less than the share and Balochistan utilised 0.673 MAF as compared to 0.864 MAF even 22.1 percent lower than the share.
All the four provinces utilised total 25.072 MAF for the said period as compared to 28.895 MAF which was recorded 13.2 percent less than the complete share of this period.
