ISTANBUL: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday urged the international community to share the responsiblity of aid, at the opening of a unprecedented UN-backed humanitarian summit in Istanbul.
"The current system falls short... the burden is shouldered only by certain countries, everyone should assume responsibility from now on," Erdogan, whose country hosts some three million refugees from Syria and Iraq, said at the opening session of the meeting.
