imagePakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has refused to Ahmad Shahzad that he will not be a part of the national team’s training camp for the tour of England.

Earlier, Shahzad wrote to the PCB that he would reform his behaviour and be more disciplined in future if he was given a chance to attend the camp. Shahzad told reporters in Peshawar that he was keen to play for Pakistan. “I am ready for all sacrifices and I am willing to do anything to get a chance to play for my country,” he said.

According to Indian Express, “Inzamam told the board that if Shahzad was allowed to attend the camp it would set a bad precedent for the future and send a wrong message to the other players,” the source said. “Inzamam has said he would discuss the selection of Shahzad with new head coach Mickey Arthur when he reaches Pakistan and see what course of action should be taken on the opener for the England tour,” the source added.

Explosive batsman Umar was also not included in the camp for the same reason as chief selector Inzamamul Haq clearly announced that discipline would be a high priority for selection from now on and newly appointed South African coach Mickey Arthur had earlier expressed that they would be tough on discipline.

Pakistan will play the first of the four Tests from July 13, followed by a five-match One-day International series and a T20 match.
