KARACHI: Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will hold its meeting here at Meteorological Complex on Wednesday evening to sight moon for Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar.
Chairman of the Committee, Mufti Munib ur Rehman in a statement Tuesday has asked the citizens from across the country to share information, if any, about Muharram moon with the committee, after Asr prayers.
Information of being witness to new moon could be communicated via phone numbers 0300-9285203, 0300-9244269, 0321-2484604, 021- 99261404 and 021-99261403.
It was said to be upon the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee comprising learned Islamic scholars to make final decision about new moon in accordance to specific shariah conditions.
Adequate arrangements in terms of provision for relevant gadgets have also been made by the Pakistan Meteorological Department to facilitate the central moon sighting committee.
