Emran Hashmi and Humaima Malik starrer ‘Raja Natwarlal’ fails to create a drastic impact on box office collection.
The movie has created lots of hype due to Pakistani actress Humaima Malik making her debut in B-town but her charisma didn’t work well on the moviegoers.
This is Hashmi’s first film to have completely failed at the Pakistani box office after his previous releases such as ‘Jannat’, ‘Jannat 2’ and ‘Murder 2’ enjoyed a good run at the local box office. Even his lesser known releases, such as the 2013 crime caper comedy ‘Ghanchakkar’ had exceeded expectations receiving decent showings, media reported.
Reportedly, the movie has earned Rs 11crore in the first two days which was quite low. It was expected to cross Rs 20crore in a week. Directed by Kunal Deshmukh, Emraan’s chemistry with his co-star and Pakistani actress Humaima Malik in the film has been criticised too.
According to local media reports, renowned film critic and trade analyst from Pakistan Nawab Huzoorul Hasan said, “We cannot rule out the fact that the movie has suffered from the current political unrest in the country, especially in Islamabad and Lahore. Several cinemas in Karachi also remained closed on Sunday due to protests in the city”.
