imageISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Monday told the National Assembly that as many as 2,174 acts of terrorism took place over the last two years.

Speaking in the lower house of the parliament, the Interior Minister said that 772 security officials as well as 1,613 citizens lost their lives over the last two years.

Nisar said that 70,000 arms license were issued during the last several years while the incumbent government had put a ban on issuing new license three months ago.

He said that no foreign security company was allowed to work in Pakistan.

The current session of the National Assembly will continue till 27 September. This was decided during a meeting of the House Business Advisory Committee of assembly chaired by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
