TAIPEI: TSMC, the world's biggest contract chipmaker, said on Thursday that sales in February rose 8.8 percent from a year earlier.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd (TSMC) said unconsolidated sales totalled 31.75 billion taiwan dollars ($1.08 billion) last month, compared with T$29.2 billion a year earlier and January's T$34.42 billion.

Consolidated sales totalled T$32.69 billion, up 8.5 percent a year earlier. The company did not give further details.
