ISLAMABAD: The traditional 'Jallebi' (sweet) become an essential Iftar food item during the holy month of Ramazan.
In various markets including Melody market, Karachi Company, Sittara, Aabpara Market, F-10, Commercial Market, Saddar and Raja Bazaar fresh 'Jalebi' are prepared before iftar.
The Jallebi are doing good business, due to high demand for the sweet recipe specially in Iftar, said a Jallebi maker.
A Jalebi-maker at Sittara market said Jalebi is high in demand these days,adding that he prepares 50 kg on daily basis and it all sells like hot cake.
Jalebi still remains close to its traditional form," he added.
The Jalebi is a traditional sweet dish that is made on every festival, special occasions and monsoons. And so much so even homes make this dish to celebrate the occasion.
This homemade Jalebi recipe is actually very easy to prepare and tastes absolutely delicious.
Iftar without Jalebi is incomplete. The Jalebi liked by people of every age from kids to senior citizen.
A customer Farhan Khan said " he daily bring hot Jalebi for Iftar as my whole family like this dish during Iftar.
Keeping in mind increase in the demand, the vendors raised prices and now its available on Rs 260 to 300 per kg.
