Naeemul Haque quashes rumours of FBR chairman Shabbar Zaidi’s removal

Naeemul Haque, the Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan, has denied the false rumours of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Shabbar Zaidi being removed from his post.

The special assistant took to his Twitter handle on Thursday and wrote that the FBR chairman will not be removed. "Shabbar Zaidi not being changed. He will remain in his position," Haque said.

Earlier, reports surfaced that Zaidi could be moved either to the position of Minister of State for Revenue or to the position of Special Advisor to the PM on Revenue. According to reports, there was no harmony between Zaidi and his team.

Zaidi was appointed by the premier as the FBR chairman back in May this year.
