Karachi Kings may have disappointed its fans as it failed to qualify for the finals of Pakistan Super League (PSL), after it lost to Islamabad United in the first eliminator. However, the franchise was successful to introduce to us potential stars for the Pakistani cricket team.

One such star was the teenage off spinner Umer Khan, who despite his young age (19) bowled with maturity and was able to trap top players including Alex Hales, Shane Watson, Rilee Rossouw and Shoaib Malik in the ongoing tournament.

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif praised the off spinner and was of the view that the youngster should be part of Pakistan World Cup side. “Umer Khan should be in the World Cup for Pakistan, Khan is the country’s best left arm spinner at the moment,” said Latif, at Caught Behind.

The 19 years old picked up 12 wickets in the 10 PSL matches, and bowled exceptionally well against the Islamabad United in the first eliminator on Thursday, picking up two wickets for just 16 runs.

The Rawalpindi Express Shoaib Akhter too gave his note of approval that the off spinner hould be included in the World Cup squad. “He (Umer Khan) got you wickets in crucial situations, choke the run flow and was also able that he was the better choice than anyone else,” said Akhtar.
