United end the road for Kings, to meet Zalmi in second eliminator
Islamabad United chased down the 162 runs target in loss of six wickets with three balls to spare at the first eliminator of the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Thursday, at Karachi National Stadium.
In doing so, the Islamabad United eliminated Karachi Kings of the PSL, and would now meet Peshawar Zalmi in the second eliminator tomorrow (Friday). For United, it was the blistering knock of Asif Ali who scored 20 off just 10 deliveries, that proved the winning factor.
Aamer Yamin got the breakthrough for Kings with the priced scalp of Luke Ronchi who got caught by Babar Azam at deep on 5.
Off spinner Umer Khan got the important wicket of the dangerous Cameron Delport who got caught by Babar Azam at deep on 38. The teenager striked with when he lbw Chadwick Walton on naught.
Babar Azam took a hat-trick of catches, when he caught Alex Hales on 41 off Aamer Yamin delivery. Azam picked his fourth catch of the inning, when he grabbed Hussain Talat on 32 off Usman Shinwari delivery.

Aamer Yamin took a sensational catch when he caught Faheem Ashraf on 17 off Mohammad Amir delivery in the final over.
The Karachi Kings were restricted to 161 at the loss of nine wickets in their 20-overs against Islamabad United, after a late counter attack by United's bowling artillery.

For Karachi Kings opening batsman Babar Azam was the top scorer with 42 runs, who shared strong partnerships with Colin Munro and Liam Livingstone that minted 32 and 30, respectively.
The Kings despite enjoying a good start at the top lost their last five wickets on just 18 runs.
Young speedster Muhammad Musa grabbed the important wicket of Colin Munro who got a top edged caught by wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi on 32 off 11 deliveries. Fast bowler Muhammad Musa got his second wicket of Colin Ingram who got caught by Asif Ali on 23.
The youngster grabbed his third with the wicket of Iftikhar Ahmed, who got caught by Hussain Talat at deep on 1.

Leg spinner Shadab Khan picked the wicket of Liam Livingstone who got caught by Faheem Ashraf at deep on 30. Medium pacer Rumman Raees grabbed the vital wicket of Babar Azam on 42, after the batsman got a faint edge straight into the hands of wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi.
