Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar's diploma is genuine, LHC told
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) was informed on Friday that Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan's diploma from the Punjab Board of Technical Education was found genuine in an inquiry.
The statement was made by Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Deputy Director Abdul Majeed before Justice Syed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, who was hearing a case regarding alleged fake degree of the minister.
Besides submitting an inquiry report, the deputy director further submitted that allegations of fake diploma proved baseless in the inquiry. He submitted that a report would be filed soon in the trial court for quashing the case.
At this, the court adjourned further hearing till March 4 and summoned counsel for the parties on the next date of hearing for arguments.
It is pertinent to mention here that the ACE had declared the diploma as fake in the challan and the trial court had summoned the minister for indictment.
The ACE had registered a fake degree case against the minister in 2012. However, after passage of seven years, the ACE has given a clean chit to the minister.
