Windies women cricketers have urged other countries to visit Pakistan, as they concluded a historic tour which saw the Windies team marking their first visit to the country in 15 years in January.

“Playing in Pakistan was a really great feeling and I am very glad to be part of the team that was willing to bring back cricket in Pakistan. I am very honored that we could help the Pakistanis play in front of their families,” said medium pacer Shakera Selman, quoted ICC.

The Windies women team played three Women's Twenty20 Internationals, at Southend Club in Karachi. “I never realized until we got here, how much it meant for them to get a chance to play in front of their families,” she added

Meanwhile, spinner Anisa Mohammed, who has previously visited Pakistan back in 2004 called her visit to Pakistan ‘the best trip’ she ever had.  “It was nice to go back, to be honest I felt quite safe from the time I left home, my trip to Pakistan is the best trip I ever had. I want to encourage all the other teams to go back there and play cricket,” said Mohammed.

“The Pakistanis have improved in their ODI cricket, and it is going to be a challenge,” she added.

Earlier on Monday, the Pakistan women cricket team achieved a historic feat, after they beat West Indies by 4 wickets, recording their first ever Women ODI series win against the visitors at ICC’s Academy in UAE. The team in green manages to claim the ODI series 2-1, after winning the decider by four wickets.
