FAISALABAD: Heavy fog in the city and its surrounding areas led to various traffic accidents early Thursday morning.
According to a police statement, dense fog severely lowers drivers visibility up to 10 to 15 meters, reduced contrast and thus, caused many road accidents.
Police said that Gulsher (37) hit his two-wheeler into a roadside electricity pole at Sargodha road due to low visibility.He received serious injuries and died on the spot whereas his unidentified pillion rider was shifted to hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.
Similarly,another motorcyclist jumped and slipped near Chak No.116-JB as he was unable to assess the speed breaker due to heavy fog. As a result, motorcyclist Zafar and his mother Manzooran Bibi received serious injuries and were rushed to Allied Hospital where the female victim was pronounced dead.
In another accident, car-rider Muhammad Islam (50) was killed and Ghulam Mustafa and Kiran Islam were recieved serious injuries when the car collided with a truck near Mochiwala at Faisalabad-Jhang r road, the spokesman added.
