A translated transcript of an audio clip recorded during the murder of Jamal Khashoggi describes the journalist to be gasping for air right before he was killed, as he said 'I can't breathe'.

A source, who read the translated transcript of an audio recording, told CNN that it was clear from the audio that Khashoggi's murder was premeditated. In the audio, Khashoggi can be heard struggling against his perpetrators and saying, "I can't breathe."

According to the source, the transcript reads that after the journalist's murder, the sounds of Khashoggi's body being dismembered by a saw could be heard as his killers are told to listen to music to block out the sound.

During the horrendous scene, calls were also made updating about the progress of the murder. These calls were made to senior figures in Riyadh, Turkish officials believe.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's foreign minister has refused to extradite suspects involved in Khashoggi's murder to Turkey. In a statement Adel al-Jubeir said, "We do not extradite our citizens."

It has been two months since Khashoggi disappeared from the Saudi consulate in Istanbul and was later pronounced dead. There have been several breakthroughs in the investigation, nearly each one pointing at Saudi Arabia and its senior figures. However, the kingdom denies that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was involved in the murder.
