Sharifs leave for Adiala jail as parole ends today

The convicted members of the Sharif family left for Adiala jail as their five-day parole ended on Monday.

Nawaz Sharif, daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar were transported from their Jati Umrah residence in Lahore to the Alama Iqbal International Airport, where they boarded a special plane for Islamabad.

Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif was given the permission to travel with the family, local media reported. Before departing for Islamabad, the family visited the graves of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, Mian Sharif and Abbas Sharif.

The Sharif family were granted parole after the demise of Kulsoom on September 11. They were granted parole after Shehbaz filed an application requesting their release so that they could attend the funeral of Kulsoom.
