ISLAMABAD: Senior Leader of Pakistan Peoples Party Barrister Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan on Sunday said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government holds vast opportunities to take bold decisions for strengthening democracy in the country.
He said that the people of Pakistan had given a heavy mandate to PML-N, adding that there is a strong opportunities for the newly elected government to make decisions regarding fair trial of Musharraf.
He said that fair trial of Pervez Musharraf would help strengthen democratic system in the country.
Talking to Pakistan Television channel, he said regional and other countries like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka had opened trials against military dictators and decisions were taken against them for violating laws.
He said that military of other countries were also very strong but that the institutions never intervened in the Constitutional matters of the governments.
He said that trial of Musharraf should be held for upholding Constitution in the country. Aitzaz Ahsan said that Civil and Military relationship would not face any damage for starting the trial against a person who broke the laws and Constitution.
Replying to a question, he said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should go forward for conducting fair trial against Musharraf for strengthening Constitution and democratic system in the country.
