imageHANOI: Vietnam recorded a trade surplus of $1.07 billion in August, well above an initial government estimate of a surplus of $100 million, Vietnam Customs said on Tuesday.

Exports last month rose 2.8 percent from July to $13.272 billion, while imports dropped 5.9 percent from the previous month to $12.198 billion, the Finance Ministry-run Customs Department said on its website.
