ISLAMABAD: A British court has allowed Broadsheet LLC to serve freezing orders inside Pakistan on National Accountability Bureau (NAB) headquarters and Attorney General for Pakistan Office after the top anti-graft body’s lawyers in UK failed to respond to court orders despite passage of several weeks.

UK court rules LCF bondholders not eligible for compensation

The ruling will add to pressure on the government to stump up more cash after it said last year it would set up a scheme to determine if some of the bondholders could be paid a one-off payment in certain circumstances.
LCF went bust in early 2019, leaving 11,600 bondholders facing losses of up to 267 million pounds. LCF was regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, but the mini-bonds were unregulated.

AerCap, which continued as part of the agreement to provide lease management services to Peregrine, has declined to make any comment on the case.
