US Secretary of State added fuel to the fire on Monday when he told a congressional hearing in Washington that discussions would begin on a trade deal.
The EU-UK trade pact was provisionally applied on January 1, after nine months of tough negotiations and a last minute handshake just before Christmas last year.
The world's top buyer of soybeans brought in 6.04 million tonnes of the oilseed from the United States in November, up 136% from 2.56 million tonnes a year ago.
The November shipments were also up from 3.4 million tonnes in October.
