imageNAIROBI: The Kenyan Rugby Union have settled a pay dispute with their top sevens players who have agreed to return to action in next month's Wellington and Las Vegas series.

The disagreement over contractual payment has had some significant consequences for Kenya, with team coach Paul Treu quitting and other KRU officials forced to resign due to poor performances in the opening three rounds of the competition.

Four of the players, including ace winger Collins Injera, will be making their first appearance of the season, and new head coach Felix Ochieng said the team was looking to build on its performance in the series.

"The World Rugby series has become very competitive as has been witnessed over the past three legs of the season," said Ochieng.

"Our main focus has been on giving every player an opportunity to be competitive in our build up to the next two legs, while representing the pride of the country to the best of their abilities."

Kenya squad for Wellington and Las Vegas series:

Andrew Amonde (capt), Collins Injera, Lavin Asego, Daniel Sikuta, Billy Odhiambo, Tonny Owuor, Michael Wanjala, Tony Onyango, Oscar Ayodi, Bush Mwale, Patrice Agunda, Felix Ayange.
