ISLAMABAD: Former Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Monday said the workers of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) have beaten the shopkeepers in different markets of Lahore, who refused to participate in its plan 'C' to disrupt routine-life and forced them to close shops.
Talking to a private TV channel, he said PTI activists burnt tyres on all main arteries of the provincial capital and heart of the country, while the government showed maximum restraint and patience to avoid clashes.
He said people from all walks of life especially students and patients faced difficulties in reaching their destinations as the violent workers did not allow them to pass through the blocked roads.
"Students showed them (PTI workers) their roll number slips and test/interview call letters besides patients produced their medical prescriptions but all in vain," he said.
He regretted that citizens of Lahore were deprived of their fundamental right of free movement and it was unjustified in a democratic system.
Replying to a question, Rana criticized Head of Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rashid Ahmed for using indecent and derogatory language against politicians.
He was of the view that Sheikh Rashid should mend his way and avoid using abusive language as it did not suit politicians representing people in the Parliament.
