DI KHAN: The district police arrested 32 suspected persons and recovered arms during a search operation conducted here on Thursday.
According to police, on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Sadiq Hussain Baloch, the police conducted a search operation in different places of Pharpur area and arrested 32 suspected persons with one gun, two pistols and 38 cartridges.
The police also checked rented houses, hotels and educational institutions during the search operation within the area.
As many as 68 educational institutions were directed to further strengthen security while 22 were warned of legal action for their poor security arrangements around the buildings.
In a separate raid, the police arrested an accused for allegedly providing a shelter to a proclaimed offender at Katti Khel area.
Acting on a tip off, SHO Paniyala police station along with his team conducted a raid to arrest a proclaimed offender Muhammad Khan alias Muhammad who opened fire at the police.
The police retaliated the fire, but the proclaimed offender managed to escape.
