KARACHI: Legendary singer and song writer Stevie Wonder is expected to perform at the “Friends of the Israel Defence Forces (FIDF)” annual fund raiser event.

It is a flagship event for the organization which raises millions of dollars to support the Israeli military. The fundraiser is planned just two weeks after the heavy bombardment on the Gaza Strip which killed and injured thousands of Palestinians with poor medical facilities to cope with the disaster. Many of those who were affected were women and children.

Being a prominent activist against the apartheid in South Africa, which also saw the soul singer getting arrested for the cause, activists have requested that he cancel his performance at the event.

An online petition is also being signed to ask Wonder to drop out of the event.
