ROTTERDAM: Soymeal prices on the European meals and feeds market were mostly firmer on Friday following a rally in CBOT soymeal futures after USDA supply/demand data which was surprisingly seen as bullish.
* "Chicago jumped on Thursday on the USDA data and buyers were banking on levels to come down soon and stayed just like on Thursday on the sidelines," one broker said.
* South American soymeal was offered between $1 a tonne down and $7 up from Thursday, mostly following Thursday's rally in soymeal futures. Buyers showed little interest and no deals were reported.
* EU rapemeal was offered between two euros a tonne up and two euros down, mostly following the trend in soymeal after May/mid-July EU rapemeal changed hands at 252 euros per tonne fob lower Rhine.
