art-painting-exhibition 40ISLAMABAD: A large number of people thronged the painting exhibition entitled "Violence on Women" by young artist Mehmood Ahmed at Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC), here Friday.

 

Member National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb and Naheed Manzoor inaugurated the exhibition along with Resident Director RAC,Waqar Ahmed.

 

The main object of the artist was to highlight the different forms of violence against women in society.

 

The illustration work of 30 master art pieces of different size were put on display. The first ever exhibition of Mehmood Ahmed got positive response due to unique subject and technique.

 

Bright colors and emerged textures made the canvas attractive. Mehmood Ahmed self-taught artist tried to give birth his mental approach on violence against women through brush and colors.

 

Mehmood Ahmed is a constable in Special Branch, he paints whatever he sees in his routine life.

 

After the inaugural ceremony, MNA Tahira Aurangzeb said that violence against women was a fundamental violation of human rights and one of the worst forms of discrimination against women.

 

"Islam is the only religion who determined the rights to women in society", she added.

 

She congratulated Mehmood Ahmed for highlighting the issues of violence against women.
