LESCO detects 39 tampered meters

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) detected tampering in 39 electricity meters out of a total of 2008 inspected in the Northern circle under the power-theft drive of the Company.

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) detected tampering in 39 electricity meters out of a total of 2008 inspected in the Northern circle under the power-theft drive of the Company.
Out of the 39 meters detected with irregularities, 19 were found with direct supply, five as shunt meters, four with the display open, six with display wash, one as a dead stop while four others were full of other discrepancies.
Sub Engineer Amir Yaseen charged 74660 detection units under the head of power theft and filed applications in the respective police station for registration of criminal cases against the responsible ones.
Meanwhile, the LSECO Chief has instructed the Company staff to ensure an uninterrupted power supply during the Eid holidays to consumers. He issued orders for special duties of relevant officers in various circles to deal with any interruption in power supply during the holidays.
